The Sibari Archaeological Park is preparing to host a new edition of SibarInProgress, the summer festival that combines original music, international jazz, traditional sounds and the promotion of archaeological heritage in an immersive and shared cultural experience. From 3 July to 14 August 2025, the archaeological area and the National Museum of Sibaritide will be transformed into a lively space, open to different audiences and new forms of expression. The festival has three main themes:
- Sybaris Folk: rhythms and roots with Peppe Voltarelli, Davide Paternostro, Piero Gallina and many other leading figures from the Mediterranean music scene.
- Sybaris Art: refined sounds with Duettango, Nino Buonocore, Gianluca Guidi and Sergio Cammariere, for a festival that intertwines notes and suggestions under the stars.
- Magna Graecia Jazz Fest: great international jazz resonates among the ancient stones with Stefania Tallini, Vincent Garcia, Rachel Z. feat. Omar Hakim, Roberto Gatto Trio and Francesca Tandoi.
Three souls intertwine between evening shows, sound trails and themed guided tours, in a continuous dialogue between past and present.
The common thread running through the entire festival is the relationship between music and cultural heritage. The events take place in the Park and Museum area at times and in formats designed to enhance the link between live performance and archaeology. The programme also includes afternoon events such as:
- “Music at the Museum” with Davide Paternostro, Piero Gallina and Alberto La Neve (22–24 July)
- “Music in the Park” with Sasà Calabrese, who recounts the schools of Italian song – Neapolitan, Roman and Genoese – through words and sounds (30 and 31 July, 14 August)
A free shuttle service is available for the public every 30 minutes and admission is included in the park ticket.
