Santa Claus' Magical Village

On 20 and 21 December 2025, Santa Caterina dello Ionio will host the second edition of the Magical Village of Father Christmas, an event dedicated to families and the community, set up in the ancient confessional rooms of the Church of Santa Caterina. A place rich in history, once a medieval hospital, which for the occasion is transformed into a themed trail capable of restoring the most authentic magic of the festive season.

The initiative was created with the aim of promoting local cultural heritage and traditions, offering children, young people and adults an immersive experience amid lights, Christmas decorations and evocative atmospheres. The Village will host entertainment with elves and performers, small performances inspired by traditional tales and areas dedicated to the delivery of gifts by Father Christmas, one of the most eagerly awaited moments for children.

There will also be tastings of traditional Catherinesian Christmas sweets, prepared according to ancient recipes to celebrate the flavours that reflect the identity of the area.
