From 3 November to 6 December 2025, the Rosarno Film Festival returns for its fourth edition. An event that combines cinema, memory and social commitment, with a programme spread across Rosarno, Palmi, Cinquefrondi and San Ferdinando. The theme, Out of the Ghetto, addresses the major issues of the present day – conflicts, migration, denied rights – intertwining local experiences and global scenarios.

The festival opens on 3 November in Cinquefrondi, at the 'Pasquale Ceazzo' municipal media library, with speeches by Mayor Michele Conia and guests Enzo Infantino from the association Per non dimenticare (Lest We Forget) and Don Nandino Capovilla, author of the book Sotto il cielo di Gaza (Under the Sky of Gaza).

From 4 to 6 November, the Valigia project brings cinema to schools in Palmi, Cinquefrondi and Rosarno with Lorenzo Terranera, illustrator and set designer known for his collaborations with UNICEF, Amnesty International and television.

On 5 November, the Cinema Teatro 'Antonio Manfroce' in Palmi will screen Berlinguer. La grande ambizione (Berlinguer: The Great Ambition) by Andrea Segre, followed on 8 November by Noi e la grande ambizione (Us and the Great Ambition), a preview of the national tour.

On 14 November, also in Palmi, Malanova by Ture Magro will be staged, a theatre show dedicated to the theme of gender-based violence. At the end of the month, on 28 November, the Waldensian Evangelical Church of Reggio Calabria will present the Territorial Pact on agroecology and eco-social living, with contributions from Alessandra Corrado, Francesco Piobbichi and Monica Natali.

From 1 to 3 December, Sciara Progetto will offer school workshops against bullying and patriarchal violence in Palmi and San Ferdinando, while Rosarno will host a short film competition promoted by the Archivio Memorie e Migranti, with a jury composed of students and farm workers. The day will end in Dambe So (San Ferdinando) with an African dinner and a concert by the Madya Trio.

On 6 December, again in Dambe So, three books dedicated to migration and social issues will be presented: Schiavi Mai (Never Slaves) by Olivieri and Pesce, Integrazione (Integration) by Ibrahim Diabate, and Insorge l'aurora sull'oblio della frontiera (Dawn Breaks on the Oblivion of the Border) by Francesco Piobbichi.

The festival will close with the screening of the documentary film Medma non si piega by Gianluca Palma, dedicated to Peppe Valarioti, the first political martyr in the fight against the 'Ndrangheta in Calabria. At the same time, the S.o.S Rosarno cooperative will tour The Pickers by Elke Sasse, a reportage on the exploitation of migrants in European agricultural supply chains.
