Rendano Theatre - House of Wonder

The Alfonso Rendano Theatre in Cosenza inaugurates its 2025 season with the three-year project House of Wonder, a journey that transforms the theatre into an expanded cultural hub and a point of reference for the whole of Calabria. Tradition, innovation and dialogue with the local area intertwine in a programme that celebrates the power of art as a shared experience.

From 19 October to 21 December 2025, the Rendano stage will host four major productions that explore the relationship between men and women, passion and destiny, and the classical and the contemporary.

The journey begins on 19 October with Maurice Ravel's Bolero, an opening performance that combines choreographic energy and orchestral intensity. On 31 October, it is the turn of Giselle, the romantic ballet par excellence, performed by the Ballet de Barcelona. The season continues with Georges Bizet's Carmen, staged on 14 November and repeated on 16 November, marking the double anniversary of 150 years since the composer's death and the first performance. Closing the season is Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, on 20 and 21 December, a new Rendano production dedicated to the great Italian opera repertoire.

Alongside the performances, the theatre offers an extensive programme of side events, meetings and workshops to engage young people, families and travellers. The project aims to make the Rendano a 'house of wonder', a lively and open place where culture becomes experience, emotion and shared identity.
