Radure - Invitation to the theatre

From 25 October to 30 December 2025, Castrovillari will host the ninth edition of Radure - Invitation to the theatre, an event organised by Aprustum that combines theatre performances, cultural meetings, film screenings, readings and a photography exhibition. The events will be held at the Sybaris Theatre, the Vittoria Theatre, the ProtosCafè of the Franciscan Protoconvent and the Caffè Teatro del Pianto e del Riso.
The festival opens with the section Incontri – L'Amerika di Trump. Cultura, storia e geopolitica (Encounters – Trump's America. Culture, history and geopolitics), with three events dedicated to the analysis of political and social transformations in the United States, curated by scholars Salvatore Inglese, Matteo Marini and Francesco Gatto.
Theatre will take centre stage with a series of intense performances: Pólemos – Lessico di guerra (Pólemos – Lexicon of War) on 29 November, a testimony to the war in Yugoslavia; In cerca di Alice (In Search of Alice) on 13 December, an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic with the young students of Aprustum; and Ubu Re (King Ubu) on 20 and 21 December at the Teatro Vittoria, a grotesque satire on power by Casimiro Gatto.
The film programme offers arthouse and international films, including Atomic Café, All That Remains of You, nominated for an Oscar in 2026, Easy Rider – Freedom and Fear, and A True Story. The screenings will take place at the Sybaris and the Caffè Teatro del Pianto e del Riso.
The readings focus on America and jazz, with Ritratti Jazz on 8 December and Americana on 29 December, accompanying the opening of Carlo Maradei's photographic exhibition Jazz... A Love Supreme, which runs until 30 December and celebrates music and the city of New York.
