Crotone is preparing to host a major sporting event for young hopefuls: from 27 to 30 July 2025, the city will host the Primavela Kinder Joy of Moving Cup, the national event dedicated to young sailors aged 9 to 17, now in its 40th edition.
It will be a real celebration of youth sailing, promoted by the Italian Sailing Federation and organised by the Crotone Sailing Club, which will bring around 500 athletes from all over Italy to the city. The most popular youth classes will compete: Optimist, O'Pen Skiff and Techno 293, to compete for the Primavela Cup, Cadet Cup and President's Cup trophies.
On Sunday 27 July, at 5.45 p.m., the opening ceremony will transform the seafront into a parade of colours and flags, with the FIV regional teams marching from Piazza Berlinguer to the FIVillage stage in the Old Port, accompanied by institutional greetings, oaths and flag-raising ceremonies. The regattas will take place from Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 July, accompanied by educational and recreational activities and workshops dedicated to topics such as safety at sea, fair play and environmental sustainability.
