An event to rediscover the origins of the Port of Santa Venere and its value for the territory

Congress-Conference

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., the walkway area of the Cristoforo Colombo seafront will host the commemorative ceremony for the 160th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Port of Vibo Marina (Santa Venere).
The initiative, organized by the Pro loco di Vibo Marina APS in collaboration with the IC Vespucci-Murmura and the Parrocchia Maria SS. del Rosario di Pompei, wants to celebrate a place that symbolizes the city's maritime identity and collective memory.
The ceremony will be attended by the authorities, Antonio Montesanti—who has been working for years on historical and anthropological research on the sea and the Calabrian territory—who will retrace the birth and evolution of the port, and Monsignor Vincenzo Varone, who will give the official blessing.
An opportunity to honor the port’s origins and renew the deep bond between the community and the sea.
