Open for You under the Stars is back again this year, the Italian Touring Club initiative that opens the doors of extraordinary and often inaccessible places. Three days to discover places rich in history and charm, guided by the passion of TCI volunteers. In Calabria, the 2025 edition takes us to the heart of Reggio Calabria, where on Saturday 14 June it will be possible to take part in two special visits among historical architecture, art and author's tales.
The Royal Hall of the Central Station
A hidden place, elegant and rich in history. Designed in 1938 by architect Angiolo Mazzoni, the Sala Reale at the Central Station is an emblematic example of Italian Rationalism. During your visit, you can admire: fine stone and aluminium cladding, original furnishings with green leather seats and a marble table, a sophisticated integrated lighting system and details that tell of the royal hospitality of the 1930s.
Palazzo Corrado Alvaro and Monsignor Ferro Hall
A rare opportunity to enter the headquarters of the Metropolitan City, accompanied by Touring Club volunteers. A journey through art, architecture and memory, in a palace that is a symbol of the city. Highlights:
- The Red Room, with gilded wood furnishings and precious fabrics
- Frescos, stuccoes and frames restored with philological care
- The ceiling decorated with the scene of the Fata Morgana, legend of the Straits
