October marks an important milestone in Acri: the 30th anniversary of Mycological October in Acri, celebrated by the Mycological Group founded in 1995. The initiative combines knowledge, culture and passion for mushrooms, with a calendar of events designed for enthusiasts, families and visitors.
On 12 October, the national mycology day Mushrooms in the Square will offer exhibitions, meetings and workshops on the theme of mushrooms. On 23 October, the Museum of Freeze-Dried Botanical and Lichen Mushrooms, recently expanded thanks to the support of the Calabria Region, will be inaugurated, while 24 October will be dedicated to excursions in the natural environment for mushroom picking and other activities in the area. The celebrations will culminate on the weekend of 25 and 26 October in the cloister of Calabria Verde, with the 30th mycological and botanical exhibition and the Forum of Mycology in Calabria, retracing three decades of scientific, educational and cultural activity.
