AMA Calabria, as part of the 48th MusicAMA Calabria, presents a special event to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. The concert will be held on November 22 at 9:00 p.m. in the charming Church of San Domenico in Lamezia Terme, on a day of celebration dedicated to Saint Cecilia, patron saint of music.

The program includes the Regina Coeli Mass for four voices, taken from the Missarum Liber Duodecimus (1601) and presented as part of a liturgical-musical reconstruction inspired by the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During the celebration, motets, litanies, and instrumental pieces will enrich a harmonious journey dedicated to the figure of Palestrina, highlighting his compositional elegance and spiritual legacy. The performance will be entrusted to the Ensemble Festina Lente, conducted by Michele Gasbarro, who will guide the audience in an immersive experience of Renaissance sacred music.

An event that invites you to explore the depth of Renaissance polyphony and appreciate the timeless beauty of Palestrina's harmonies.
