To be held in San Mango D'Aquino on August 17 and 18 is the 11th edition of the Muricello Prize, a cultural review whose leitmotif this year will be "The Right to Dignity".
On the first evening, dedicated to the Literary Prize, prestigious personalities and writers such as Angela Bubba with "Elsa" published by Ponte alle Grazie, Annarosa Macrì with "Sarti volanti" published by Rubettino will compete for the victory, Martino Ciano with "Itinerario della mente verso Thomas Bernhard" published by A&B, Salvatore Franco with "Padrone e sotto, il gioco della vita", Aldo Mazza with "L'arcobaleno nelle mani" published by Falco edizioni, Francesca Veltri with Malapace published by "Miraggi".
The second evening will fully explore the main theme of this edition by meeting and awarding personalities who have distinguished themselves for their commitment to its full realization of the "right to dignity." These will include Charlie Barnao, a university lecturer who teaches in the Siano penitentiary in Catanzaro, and Francesco Cosentini, president of the Liberamente Association, which for over twenty years, has been carrying out rehabilitation projects in Cosenza prisons, rapper and writer Kento who brings rap to juvenile prisons.
Emanuele Giacoia, one of the most important professionals of Calabrian and Italian RAI, will also be remembered. For the entrepreneurship section, the Award will be presented to Vincenzo Rota, patron of the San Vincenzo company, a leader in the production of cured meats, exporting products all over the world. The last award will be presented to Salvatore Borsellino for his battles against organized crime and for his search for truth in the events that led to the tragic death of his brother Paolo and his escort.
Special Award to Mauro Francesco Minervino, professor of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology in the Catanzaro Academy of Fine Arts. The evening will continue with a remembrance of Aldo Grandinetti, a successful young Sanmanghean entrepreneur who tragically passed away from fulminant leukemia. The evenings will feature musical forays by the duo Nives Raso (vocals) and Lorenzo Iorio on guitar.
