May in Feast in San Sosti

In San Sosti, in the heart of the Pollino, one of the most heartfelt appointments of local spirituality and culture is being renewed: from 27 April to 4 May 2025, the village will welcome the Pilgrim Madonna of Pettoruto, in a symbolic journey that combines faith and tradition.

The solemn opening procession, scheduled for 27 April at 4 p.m., will see the sacred effigy leave the Shrine and receive the keys of the town. On 29 April, the Madonna will reach the Fravitta district, while on 3 May there will be a Marian vigil presided over by the bishop. The culmination of the celebrations will be the mass and procession on 4 May, with the return to the Shrine.

At the same time, ‘May in Feast’ comes to life, from 2 to 4 May, with a rich cultural and gastronomic programme. On 2 and 3 May, the Piazza Mercato will host ‘Flavours, Tastes and Traditions’ with exhibition stands organised by Confartigianato. On 3 May, at 2.30 p.m., the infiorata will colour the historic centre, while on 4 May, at 5.30 p.m. in Piazza Libertà, the show “L'Eco del Pettoruto” with songs, sounds and dances will close the programme, accompanied by local artists and the music of Radio Sound.
