One of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, the Carnevale in Musica returns to Marcellina, a hamlet of Santa Maria del Cedro (CS). In 2026, the event will reach the historic milestone of its 25th edition. The event will take place on February 14, 15, and 17, 2026, offering three days of tradition, music, and fun for the entire community and its many visitors.
The program will begin on Saturday, February 14, at 6:00 p.m. with a Holy Mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Marcellina. This moment of reflection will officially open the event in the spirit of community values.
The highlight of the festival is scheduled for Sunday, February 15. At 11:00 a.m., the allegorical floats will gather at Piazzale O. Guaragna. Then, at 3:00 p.m., the traditional parade will begin, winding through the town's main streets with music, entertainment, and dancing. The parade will end in Largo E. Berlinguer, where the festivities will continue into the evening. At 7:00 p.m., there will be a musical show entitled "La Nave – Anni '90" (The Ship – The '90s), featuring a two-story stage shaped like a ship, as well as DJs, vocalists, guests, mascots, entertainment, special effects, and gadgets to recreate the atmosphere and energy of that iconic decade.
The event will conclude on Tuesday, February 17. At 3:00 p.m., the floats and masks will gather in Piazza Giovanni Falcone. At 3:30 p.m., there will be a final parade through the streets of the town with performances by the folk group "I Giganti di Taurianova" and entertainment by R2 Animation, by Rossano Bruno and Carmine Russo. Upon returning to the square at 7:00 p.m., there will be a musical show called "Elettro Tarantella", which fuses popular and electronic music from southern Italy.
The 2026 Carnival in Music is organized by the LAOS ODV Cultural Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Santa Maria del Cedro.
This special edition promises to be full of excitement, color, and participation, solidifying the Marcellina Music Carnival's status as one of the area's most important and heartfelt events.
