From 1 to 3 August 2025, Piazza Spinelli in the historic centre of Scalea will once again resound with the notes and words of Laos Fest, the Calabrian festival dedicated to independent music. Now in its eighth edition, the event confirms its status as a reference point for lovers of live music, emerging talent and new forms of expression.
A festival that combines art, socialising and promotion of the local area, with a programme designed for all ages, including concerts, stand-up comedy, meetings and moments of sharing. All events are free to attend and accompanied by a lively food & drink area. Among this year's most eagerly awaited guests are:
- Amoreaudio (1 August) – A Calabrian duo based in Turin, they open the festival with sounds that mix UK bass, future garage and Italian pop.
- Speedy (2 August) – A singer-songwriter born in 2002, originally from Sant'Agata di Esaro, whose music blends indie, it-pop and everyday stories.
- Amalfitano (2 August) – With the Azzurrissimo Tour, he brings his poetic and visceral ballads to Scalea, for those who still dream.
An absolute novelty for Laos Fest is the stand-up comedy night on 3 August:
- Vincenzo Comunale, star of Zelig and Le Iene, brings an ironic and biting show about generations and current affairs.
- Giuliana Benvenuto, a young comedian from Scalea, makes her debut in her hometown with a sincere and sharp show.
The band Thule closes the festival with a live performance that blends rock, pop-rock and indie influences in a personal and powerful style.
