Jean François Niceron and Emmanuel Maignan: two Lesser Fathers, between science and faith

"Jean François Niceron and Emmanuel Maignan: two Minimal Fathers, between science and faith", an exhibition curated by Alessio Bortot, Agostino De Rosa and Imago rerum, which will be inaugurated on 7 October 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Exhibition Hall of the Sanctuary of San Francesco di Paola in Paola (CS).

The exhibition tackles, for the first time in the scientific world, the perspective and artistic work of the Minimal Fathers Jean François Niceron (1613-1646) and Emmanuel Maignan (1601-1676), whose lives were expressed in a relatively short period of time - the first half of the 17th century - but dense with political and cultural events, reflected in works that offer themselves today to the contemporary observer as extraordinary charades, balanced between mathematical rigour and a taste for the marvellous and the extraordinary.
