The town of Palmi, birthplace of the composer Francesco Cilea, is hosting the 3rd edition of the International Piano Competition “Il Pianismo di Francesco Cilea”, a competition dedicated to showcasing the piano repertoire and promoting young talents in classical music.
Taking place from 8 to 10 May 2026 at the Auditorium Santa Famiglia, the event will bring together pianists from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds for three days dedicated to music, study, and artistic exchange.
Paying tribute to Francesco Cilea, one of the most illustrious Italian composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the competition offers participants the chance to explore the piano tradition and interpretative research.
Organised by the Camerata Musicale Palmese Cultural Association and under the artistic direction of Maestro Beatrice Zoccali, the event will be judged by Maestro Daniel Rivera, an internationally renowned pianist.
With participants including young pianists, conservatoire students, and classical music enthusiasts, the competition is a cultural gathering that promotes the musical heritage associated with Cilea and Palmi's role in disseminating the Italian musical tradition.
