From 24 January to 21 March 2026, Tarsia and various centres in Calabria will host The Days of Remembrance, a cultural festival dedicated to the themes of history, memory and responsibility. Particular reference will be made to the Ferramonti Internment Camp and its symbolic value in the twentieth-century European landscape.
The programme features a comprehensive schedule of meetings, in-depth discussions, educational activities and artistic initiatives, primarily at the International Museum of Memory in Ferramonti di Tarsia, as well as events in other locations across the region. Scholars, witnesses, artists, associations and cultural institutions will be involved in the festival, offering the public opportunities to reflect on themes such as deportation, human rights and civil coexistence. Alongside public meetings and dialogues with historians and researchers, the programme devotes ample space to schools and universities, promoting educational courses designed for the younger generation. Workshops, meetings with students and participatory initiatives will strengthen the role of memory as a tool for raising awareness and encouraging active citizenship.
In this way, the Days of Remembrance take the form of a widespread cultural journey, connecting the past and the present while stimulating collective reflection on the value of individual and social responsibility.
