International Festival of Folklore and Pollino Park

From 19 to 23 August 2025, Castrovillari will once again become the capital of cultural exchange: it is time for the 39th International Folklore and Pollino Park Summer Festival, one of the longest-running and most significant events on the Calabrian cultural scene.

Organised by the E.I.F. Cultural Association under the artistic direction of Antonio Notaro, the event is an integral part of the “Castrovillari Città Festival” project and every year brings together music, dance, costumes and traditions from all over the world in a great collective embrace under the Pollino sky.

The visual inspiration for this edition comes from artist Paolo La Falce, who wanted to capture in the gaze and colours of his work the joy, diversity and vitality that have animated the festival for almost four decades. In 2025, there will be six international guest groups: Albania, Armenia, Chile, Martinique, Mexico and Venezuela. Together with them, the ‘Città di Castrovillari’ Folklore Group and other Italian groups will accompany the audience on a unique journey through the sounds and folk dances of the world.

For five days, Castrovillari will be transformed into a large open-air stage, where music becomes a universal language, capable of uniting and celebrating differences. A collective experience of sharing, beauty and dialogue, which continues to thrill after 39 years.
