Festival Love&Rage

The Love & Rage Festival from 12 to 15 August 2024 in Verzino.

For the first time, a comedian-cabaret performer, undoubtedly one of the best-known in Italy, will take the stage at Amore&Rabbia: Giovanni Cacioppo, will be the first artist to burst onto the stage in the splendid location of the new Piazza Ferdinando Gualtieri set in the old town centre.

After a lot of laughs and a pleasant stroll through the town's alleys, the kermesse returns for the next three evenings to Piazza Campo, where on 13 August two international artists who share the same grit and determination will perform: Awa Fall, from Italy and Senegal, and Sol Pereyra, from Argentina. On 14 August, Scarda, a singer-songwriter born in Naples and raised in Vibo Valentia, will take the stage. He is undoubtedly one of the most interesting artists on the new indie scene, with intense lyrics that give depth to light things and lightness to deep things. After his performance, it is the turn of Giuliano Gabriele who, with his invaluable band, introduces us to the ancient and contemporary musical cross-fertilisation of the Mediterranean, a journey into the deep South, where the lyrics deal with hard and uncomfortable themes such as power and fear, conflicts, environmental disasters, mafias, migrants, injustice, in a sometimes very strong momentum that passes from indignation to reflection, from rejection to sharing. And it is precisely the concept of sharing that will characterise and accentuate the final evening of Amore&Rabbia on 15 August, where AlmaNova Update and Verzino's GRMP (Gruppo Ricerca Musica Popolare) will perform.

There will also be moments of discussion with meetings and debates, exhibitions and street food.
