From 5 to 7 June 2025, the Festival del Sud - Valentia in Festa returns, a cultural event that crosses the municipalities of Girifalco, Pizzo, Zungri and Jonadi, bringing with it stories, voices and reflections dedicated to the narrative heritage of Southern Italy. Now in its seventh edition, the festival continues to promote reading as a tool for dialogue between generations, in an itinerant itinerary that weaves together words, emotions and identity.
The protagonist of 2025 will be Filippo Roma, author and well-known face of the TV programme Le Iene, with his novel Si ami chi può, a touching narrative on the mother-son bond, the theme of illness and the power of forgiveness. His presentations will take place in four stages:
- Girifalco - Thursday 5 June, 6 p.m. - Council Hall of the Municipality
- Pizzo - Friday 6 June, 18:30 - Streusa Bookshop
- Jonadi - Saturday 7 June, 18:00 - Sala ‘’Nilde Iotti‘’
- Zungri - Saturday 7 June, at 20:30 - Council Hall of the Municipality
Moreover, on Friday 6 June in Jonadi, space will also be given to Calabrian writing with Giusy Staropoli Calafati, who will present her novel Alvaro. Più di una vita, an intense and heartfelt homage to Corrado Alvaro on the 130th anniversary of his birth.
