From 7 August to 6 September 2025, the Falerna Folk Festival returns, an event dedicated to popular culture that will enliven the squares, villages and archaeological sites of the area with concerts, traditional events and outdoor activities. A packed calendar of events designed to promote the cultural and landscape heritage of Falerna and its hamlets.
Detailed programme:
7 August | Piazza Ugo Floro, 9.30 p.m.
Opening night with a concert by Mimmo Cavallaro, one of the most influential voices in Calabrian folk music. The event will be accompanied by a craft market with an exhibition and sale of local products, artistic artefacts and gastronomic specialities.
11 August | Piazza Marconi, 9 p.m.
An evening of tradition and conviviality with “Miss Pacchiana”, dedicated to folk customs, sounds and the cultural identity of the area.
6 September | Castiglione Marittimo – Roman villa of Pian delle Vigne, 7:30 p.m.
An evening dedicated to nature and historical discovery. Participants will meet at 7:00 p.m., followed by the start of the archaeological trek through the ruins of the Norman castle of Castiglione Marittimo at 7:30 p.m., continuing with an astronomical observation activity at the archaeological site of the Roman Villa of Pian delle Vigne. An opportunity to enjoy an immersive experience of landscape, archaeology and science.
The Falerna Folk Festival is promoted by the Municipality of Falerna with the contribution of the Calabria Region. A journey through music, memory and beauty that is renewed every year to celebrate the identity of a territory rich in history and tradition.
