Eva Robin's - The Servants

Genet's classic revives in the contemporary world, highlighting the themes of power, gender, psychic deviance... Veronica Cruciani leads the challenge with transgender icon Eva Robin's and two talented actresses. The story, inspired by a real news story, is about two maids who simultaneously love and hate their mistress, Madame. The servants denounced her lover by writing anonymous letters. Learning that the lover will be released for lack of evidence, and that their betrayal will be discovered, they attempt to assassinate Madame...The servants' revolt against their mistress is not a social gesture, a revolutionary action: it is a ritual. This ritual is the embodiment of frustration, the action of killing the beloved and envied object cannot be carried out in everyday life, it is repeated endlessly like a game.

The play will be staged on 27 April 2024 at the Auditorium Comunale in Polistena.
