The “Electronic Music in the Cloister” festival returns to Cosenza for its 13th edition, organised by the “Stanislao Giacomantonio” Conservatory – Department of Electronic Music. This well-established event will bring two evenings of experimentation in music, visual arts, technology and artificial intelligence to the charming Portapiana Cloister on 16 and 18 July 2025.

On 16 July, at 9.15 p.m., “PianoFace – the face that plays” will take place, an innovative performance in which the human face is transformed into an instrument and musical score. An immersive and participatory experience that combines facial expressiveness, musical improvisation and technology, inspired by the great masters of contemporary art and international performance. Among the protagonists: Francesco Pio Serpa, Mirko Cannizzaro, Dennis Malusardi, Ivano Morrone, Mirjana Nardelli and Costantino Rizzuti directing audio-video.

On 18 July, again at 9.15 p.m., the evening will be dedicated to “Computer music in Great Britain”. The first part will feature two original soundtracks: one inspired by the video game Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, the other by Derek Jarman's experimental film A Journey to Avebury. This will be followed by the electroacoustic works of Jonathan Harvey, Jonty Harrison and Trevor Wishart, presented in a powerful 8-channel immersive listening experience.
