On Saturday 17 May 2025, the Multifunctional Centre of the Parish of San Giuliano in Castrovillari will host a special event promoted by the ‘Angeloni’ Cultural Centre as part of the new AVSI (Association of Volunteers for International Service) Tents Campaign, which this year focuses on the profound value of education as an engine of hope and rebirth.
An intense and engaging evening will open at 7 p.m. with the participation of Emanuela Salandini, AVSI worker in Uganda, direct spokesperson of the concrete actions that the association carries out in places marked by war and poverty such as Lebanon, Uganda, Palestine, Ecuador, Cameroon and Ukraine. This will be followed by a mentalism show by Mattia Di Pace, professor of Physics, whose artistic contribution will help support the cause: the entire proceeds will in fact be donated to AVSI.
Through the story of the school projects in the countries involved, the Campaign focuses on the figure of the educator capable of looking at the other in his or her totality, of welcoming him or her unconditionally and accompanying him or her in his or her own path of growth. The aim is to build an education that is not just a transmission of knowledge, but a true experience of relationships, capable of generating change.
