On August 3, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the National Archaeological Museum of Locri will host a free workshop dedicated to the stone industry. Organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Vivarch and Itineraria Bruttii onlus, the event offers an immersive experience that allows participants to discover flint working techniques within a reconstructed Neolithic camp. During the two-hour workshop, participants will be able to try their hand at the practical production of prehistoric tools such as arrowheads, scrapers, awls, sickles, and axes, while also learning how to engrave graffiti and the traditional methods of lighting a fire using stones and wood. The activity is divided into several stages, including the analysis and use of stone materials, storytelling about the Stone Age, the chipping of simple and more complex tools, and the construction of objects useful for the daily life of prehistoric peoples.
The initiative is open to a limited number of participants and reservations are required. For information and registration, please contact the organizers at the addresses provided.
