Discover Catanzaro

Bike Tour, Natural Trekking, Urban Trekking, Weekend at the Museum, Treasure Hunt, A Night at the Museum and A Night in the Underground. History, nature, culture and entertainment will intertwine in the heart of the old town centre on the occasion of the "Discover Catanzaro" event promoted by the Cooperativa Artemide as part of the "Finally Christmas" programme set up by the municipal administration. The city's main attractions will be the focus of new excursion itineraries that aim to enhance and revive Catanzaro's tradition and identity.

We will start on the morning of Saturday 23 December to discover the city's museums with a tour guide: MARCA with the exhibition of Lucio Parrillo, one of the most appreciated cartoonists and illustrators, Rock Museum, Mimmo Rotella's House of Memory and the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art will be the stages of a guided tour that aims to raise awareness of the artistic and civil value of culture within our territory. Admission is free for children up to 13 years of age.

On 26 December, the Natural Trekking in the footsteps of nature in the Mediterranean Biodiversity Park returns at 10 a.m., while at 4.30 p.m. it will be the turn of the Bike Tour through the streets of the city with pedal-assisted bicycles provided by the AMC.

On Thursday 28 December, "A night at the museum" - in collaboration with Flavor, an association specialising in entertainment - with visits accompanied by tour guides inside the exhibition space of the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni, which hosts the exhibition "Caravaggio. No energy without colour', enriched by a mix of knowledge and flavours combining museum art and the art of Italian cocktails.

A new juxtaposition of art and music, which will continue on Friday 29 December with the Night in the Castle's basement, including exclusive guided tours in the galleries, the temporary exhibition by Genesi-Epifanie contemporanee and the live music djset by Amatori Arte and Factory+.

"Discover Catanzaro" will continue on 30 December at 10 a.m. and on 5 January at 3.30 p.m. with Urban Trekking in search of ancient crafts and objects skilfully handmade by Catanzaro's master craftsmen.

Finally, for Epiphany on 6 January, at 10.30 a.m., the much-awaited event for children, the Befana treasure hunt in Villa Margherita.
