A national conference to shape the future of tourism through innovation, training and development strategies

On 28 July 2025, the Municipal Library of Marina di Gioiosa Ionica will host Destination Italy, a national conference dedicated to the evolution of tourism and the construction of new territorial models, in line with the recent Made in Italy Law.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., industry experts, institutional representatives and tourism operators will discuss the concept of the Destination Tourism System and the importance of the Destination Manager, an innovative figure created to guide territories towards more conscious, experiential and strategic tourism.
Among the promoters of the initiative are the University of Calabria, with the Unical Business School, and the Made in Italy Tourism Academy, which will present the Executive Course for Destination Managers, based on Article 31 of the Made in Italy Law. Speakers will include:
- Prof. Tullio Romita, director of the Executive Course
- Dr Claudio Pisapia, creator of the Culturitalia model
- Dr Pasquale Ciurleo, National President of Ente Pro Loco Italiane
- Dr Luigi Cerruti, Federcomtur Bulgaria Commissioner
- Dr Maurizio Reale, Vice-President of ADA Calabria and Consorzio Jonica Holidays
- Dr Ettore Lacopo, President of Lions Club Locri
- Dr Andrea Casadei, Almaviva – Tourism Practice Manager
- Following this, from 8:30 p.m., the debate will be enriched by contributions from local and regional institutions:
- Rosella Logozzo, Councillor for Tourism, Marina di Gioiosa
- Dr Saverio Anghelone, Municipal Councillor
- Dr Domenico Giannetta, Councillor for the Calabria Region
- Dr Giovanni Calabrese, Regional Councillor for Tourism
The conclusions will be presented by Hon. Pino Bicchielli, signatory of Article 31 of the Made in Italy Law, who will reiterate the strategic value of training in the tourism sector.
