Contest Dolcestate

One of the most delicious events of the Calabrian summer is back: DolcEstate, the competition that promotes local confectionery traditions through an afternoon of taste, culture and sharing in the heart of the village of Santa Caterina dello Ionio.

Now in its third edition, the initiative has become a true symbol of summer in the historic centre, involving artisans of taste, cooking enthusiasts and visitors curious to discover (and taste) the typical recipes of the area.

The competition is not just a contest between the best traditional desserts: it is an opportunity to rediscover and promote authentic flavours, often handed down only orally and increasingly rare to find in commercial circles. The goal is simple but ambitious: to transform the memory of taste into a heritage to be preserved and shared.

Programme for the day:

• 5:00 p.m. – Conference presenting the Dolce Estate project
• 5:45 p.m. – Start of the dessert competition
• 6:00 p.m. – Guided tour (optional) through the alleys of the village
• 7:00 p.m. – Award ceremony for the winning desserts and free tasting of the desserts in the competition and aperitif for all those present
