From 30 October to 1 November 2025, the hamlet of Gesuiti of San Vincenzo La Costa will come alive for the 19th edition of the Chestnut Forum, an event that celebrates the flavours and traditions of autumn in Calabria. Three days of festivities featuring food, music, culture and moments of sharing, dedicated to the undisputed queen of the season: the chestnut.
It all kicks off on Thursday 30 October with the traditional briscola card game tournament and the inevitable roasted chestnuts for everyone, an opportunity to get together in an atmosphere of conviviality and cheerfulness.
On Friday 31 October, Corso dei Gesuiti will be transformed into a great food trail with food and wine stands offering typical dishes and autumn specialities: chestnuts, mushrooms, pumpkin, tripe, sandwiches, kebabs and much more. In the evening, there will be a great musical show with a tribute to Max Pezzali and the 883, to relive the music and energy of the 80s and 90s together.
On Saturday 1 November, the Forum will continue with a themed conference and the award ceremony for the poetry and drawing competition at the '5 Pioppi' restaurant. In the afternoon, along the main street, there will be space for the Tamburi e Giganti di Varapodio and the Mascotte, up to the church square where the first edition of the 'Torte d'Autunno' competition will be held, with tastings and awards. The grand finale will take place in the square with a concert by Taranta Nova, featuring folk music, wine and roasted chestnuts.
