The Cerzeto Food Festival returns in 2025 with its new edition, confirming its status as one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Calabrian summer. On 4 and 5 July, the village of Cerzeto will be transformed into a stage for flavours, encounters, music and traditions, for an event that celebrates local identity and the power of food as a universal language.
Two days dedicated to the link between food, Arbëresh culture and the revitalisation of villages, with a programme that involves families, children, food and wine enthusiasts and curious travellers.
Friday 4 July opens with the event “The roads of rosé”, a guided selection of the best rosé wines of the Mediterranean, accompanied by experiential workshops that focus on the hands, the senses and the transmission of knowledge:
- "Hands in the dough – Junior Master Chef Arberia", organised by Maccabuani de La Terra di Piero, will involve children aged 6 to 14 in cooking and games;
- “Mjaj fiku nga Qana” and “Gjiza nga Qana”, two immersive experiences among ancient flavours and dairy traditions.
On Saturday 5 July, starting at 5.30 pm, the entire village will come alive with a packed calendar of events:
- the conference “Arbëreshë food traditions and culture as a tool for identity in the development of tourism and roots”, with the presentation of the ITINERAI project;
- the parade of traditional Arbëreshë clothing, featuring the colours, fabrics and symbols of a living culture;
- the ancient songs of the guest groups, for a musical journey into collective memory;
- and, of course, local and international cuisine, with typical and ethnic dishes prepared by the V.P.B. cooperative and the beneficiaries of the SAI “Cerzeto Solidale” project.
The evening will be accompanied by music from Radio Sound – Suona Meglio, for a finale full of dancing in the spirit of conviviality, inclusion and good taste.
