Forty years of art, culture and entertainment: Catonateatro celebrates an important milestone and does so with a programme full of unmissable appointments, confirming itself as one of the most long-lived and popular cultural events of the Calabrian summer.

Once again this year, the suggestive Arena Alberto Neri of Catona, in Reggio Calabria, will be the exceptional stage for an event that combines music, theatre and literature, bringing on stage excellent performers and great national productions.

The 2025 playbill opens with four musical premieres of great appeal:

• 3 August - Serena Rossi in SereNata a Napoli, a show between music and words that tells the soul of her city.
• 5 August - Simone Cristicchi with Dalle tenebre alla luce, a journey between poetry and songwriting.
• 8 August - Sister Act 1&2 - Musical Show with Belia Martín, in an explosion of rhythm and fun.
• 27 August - Grand finale with West Side Story, the musical masterpiece by Bernstein and Sondheim signed by Massimo Romeo Piparo.

The theatre section sees protagonists of the Italian scene alternate between literary classics and timeless comedies:

• 10 August - I Promessi Sposi with Giuseppe Pambieri in the role of Manzoni.
• 13 August - San Giovanni Decollato with Miko Magistro and Tuccio Musumeci.
• 17 August - La Banda degli Onesti, a tribute to Italian comedy with Vincenzo Volo.
• 20 August - Il Ratto delle Sabine directed and performed by Pippo Pattavina.
• 23 August - Capuana's Paraninfo with Enrico Guarneri, between irony and Sicilian tradition.
