Catanzaro is preparing for a Carnival full of events and shows that will bring the historic center and the Lido district to life on February 20, 21, and 22, 2026. The new dates were set following the rescheduling of the events initially planned for February 15 and 17, which were postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The festival will officially open on Friday, February 20, at 9:15 a.m. with the first event on the program. The day will begin with a traveling parade of masks starting from Piazza Matteotti and ending at Villa Margherita. Simultaneously, a children's parade will take place in the green area of Parco Gaslini.
On Saturday, February 21, the event will continue at 4:30 p.m. along Corso Mazzini with a parade featuring performers and mascots. The parade will be accompanied by music and other artistic performances to engage the public along the route.
On Sunday, February 22, events will be concentrated in the area between Villa Margherita and the port, with activities for adults and children. At the town villa, there will be music, recreational activities, and moments of sharing, including a puppet show curated by Angelo Gallo. Starting at 11:00 a.m., the public can meet costumed characters and mascots in the port area, watch clown performances, and experience the energy of the Argentine circus acrobatic duo.
*Due to adverse weather forecasts, the events scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, February 20, 2026, in the city center and at Lido have been canceled. The events scheduled for Saturday, February 21, remain confirmed.
