Castrovillari White Onion Festival

One of the most eagerly awaited events of the Calabrian summer returns to Castrovillari: from 4 to 6 July 2025, the spotlight will be on the fourth edition of the De.Co. White Onion Festival, an event that combines agricultural tradition, authentic flavours, culture and hospitality.

For three days, the historic centre and local farms will be the beating heart of a festival celebrating Castrovillari's De.Co. White Onion, a product that is synonymous with the area and a symbol of sustainable agriculture linked to the territory.

But the festival does not stop in the square: visitors can take part in guided tours of the farms where the De.Co. White Onion is grown, with the participation of agronomist Luigi Gallo, who will accompany visitors with interesting facts, anecdotes and cultivation secrets. The programme of guided tours:

• 4 July, 10 a.m. – “L'Aroma del Benessere” farm: medicinal crops and sensory trails immersed in nature
• 5 July, 10 a.m. – “Barletta” farm: a walk through the fields, exploring history and tradition
• 6 July, 10 a.m. – “Cavoli Miei” farm: biodiversity, local practices and sustainable agriculture

Each visit will be followed by tastings in the cellar, to discover the pairings between white onions and local wines, in a journey that brings together the territory, agriculture and the culture of good living.
