On Sunday 21 December 2025, at 5 pm, the Politeama Theatre in Catanzaro will host the Grand Gala of the eighth edition of the Carlino d'Argento Award, an event that celebrates Calabrian excellence in the fields of culture, visual arts, entertainment, entrepreneurship, science and social commitment.
Among the winners, Pierfrancesco Pingitore will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, while journalist Cecilia Primerano will be recognised in the Culture section. Artist Massimo Sirelli will be awarded for Visual Arts and Performing Arts, Mauro Lamanna for Social Commitment, and the Harmonic Innovation Hub in the Entrepreneurship and Youth section. The Special Award will be presented to Giovanni Monteleone for his international scientific contributions.
The ceremony, hosted by Domenico Gareri, will feature musical and artistic interludes with the Teatro Politeama Dance School, pianist Giovanni Mazzuca, soprano Giorgia Teodoro, and tenor Alessandro D'Acrissa. The evening will also be dedicated to the closing of the Telethon Italia national campaign in support of research into rare genetic diseases.
