Cariati is preparing to relive a fascinating chapter of history with the event "Cariati between myth and history: AD 1544" third edition, which will be held in the evocative setting of the historic center in Piazza Rocco Trento. The event, organized by the synergy between the Municipality of Cariati and the Karis Association with the collaboration of other local associations, including Terraverde and Jonio Wild, proposes to retrace the assault on the medieval village by the Turks in 1544 by the corsair Kaireddin, known as Barbarossa, who destroyed a large part of the city and took many inhabitants prisoner, including Bishop Giovanni Carnuti, who died in captivity in Algiers.History buffs will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the 16th century thanks to an engaging historical procession, where the dressed in period clothes from the maximum theater of Palermo.The food and wine stands will be a real journey through time through the flavors and typical products of the period, a real treat for the palate of visitors. The photo corner will allow everyone to create unforgettable visual memories of this unique day. The art of flag-waving, represented by the talented artists of the historic group Città di Catanzaro, will add a breathtaking show to the event, giving a glimpse of the traditions of the time. Furthermore, the participation of illustrious guests such as Amedeo Fusco, Maria Vyazigina and Simonpietro Graziano will further enrich the program, guaranteeing moments of entertainment and knowledge.
