From 16 to 20 July 2025, Reggio Calabria will be filled with the scent and identity of its symbolic fruit: bergamot. The eagerly awaited BergaFest is back, an independent and passionate event that this year celebrates its 25th edition, keeping its soul intact: promoting a unique excellence in the world, with heart and without fanfare.
Organised with the support of the International Bergamot Academy, the festival is a hymn to the most authentic Calabria, capable of involving experts, artisans, artists and enthusiasts in a multisensory journey through gastronomy, perfumery, art, science and culture.
The official opening is scheduled for Wednesday 16 July at the National Bergamot Museum, with “BergaFest per Fumum”, an event dedicated to international perfumery, which this year will feature Angela Ciampagna, “Naso BergaFest 2023”, in the creation of a new celebratory fragrance. Highlights of the 2025 edition include:
- BergaFestApar competition, a challenge between young pastry chefs led by master Antonello Fragomeni
- Talk show with journalist Eva Giumbo and guests from the world of culture and communication
- Installations, tastings and exhibitions on the Falcomatà seafront, the true heart of the festival
- Awards ceremonies, including the Apei competition for signature pastries and the title of Bergamot Ambassador 2025
- Tributes to big names such as master Iginio Massari, protagonists in the promotion of taste
- The programme also includes meetings with scholars, such as Prof. Giuseppe Squillace, artistic performances curated by Daniela Ciaffardoni and Giorgia Proietti, literary presentations, musical events and a spectacular closing with fireworks.
