Food meets comics in a journey through flavours and iconic stories: until 16 May 2025, the Comics Museum in Cosenza is hosting the exhibition At the Table with the Greats of Comics, an experience that explores the link between the characters of the ninth art and their most representative dishes.
From Grandma Goose's famous cakes, symbol of sweetness and tradition, to Popeye's spinach, synonymous with strength and determination, to Poldo Sbaffini's hamburgers, the exhibition celebrates the most iconic dishes from the world of comics. Among the protagonists are also Lupo Alberto, portrayed in the McKenzie Farm, and Tex Willer, grappling with the spicy Calabrian chilli pepper in an illustration by Bruno Brindisi. The exhibition also touches on the more sensual side of food with the works of Milo Manara, while the vegetarianism of Dylan Dog offers food for thought on the food choices of comic book heroes. Uncle Scrooge is not missing, engaged in the creation of his most precious food: gold.
