From 16 to 21 August 2025, the Shrien of St. Francis of Paola in Spezzano della Sila will host the second edition of the “Artisan Hands” photography exhibition, promoted by Pro Loco Casali del Manco e Villaggi Silani and curated by Vanessa Lorusso.
This year's theme is a tribute to the precious art of embroidery and bridal trousseaus, through the sensitive gaze of a photographic collection that celebrates the silent and skilful work of women artisans, embroiderers, fabric painters and crochet masters. The images, taken in the historic centres of Casali del Manco and Spezzano della Sila, recount a collective memory made up of gestures handed down through the generations, industrious hands, and threads woven with love and dedication. A time when mothers, aunts and grandmothers gathered in front of their houses to share stories and knowledge while creating tablecloths, sheets and blankets to pass on to future generations. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Mrs Bernardina Sirianni di Macchia, a symbolic figure of this ancient tradition.
