Antonio Vivaldi Festival

From 28 September to 26 October 2024, Castrovillari will host the seventh edition of the prestigious Antonio Vivaldi Festival, an event that celebrates great classical music and that, over the years, has established itself as a leading event on the local cultural scene. Organised by the Associazione Cosenza Autentica APS and under the artistic direction of maestro Alessandro Marano, the festival offers a rich programme of concerts with performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists.

The events will be held in some of the city's most evocative locations, such as the Aragonese Castle and the Sybaris Theatre, which will be the setting for five not-to-be-missed events:

• 28 September: ‘Le Grandi Sonate per Pianoforte’, with Catanese pianist Mario Spinnicchia, at the Castello Aragonese.
• 5 October: ‘From opera to jazz’, with Antonio Puglia on clarinet and Mariano Meloni on piano, at the Castello Aragonese.
• 12 October: ‘Classical vs. modern’, with Piero Rotolo on piano and the Talos string quintet, at the Castello Aragonese.
• 19 October: ‘Anima Barocca’, with Maira Michelini at the piano, who will perform both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, at the Castello Aragonese.
• 26 October: Grand finale at the Sybaris Theatre with ‘Barock and Tango’, a performance by pianist Claudio Cozzani and accordionist Gianluca Campi.
