Taurianova, in the province of Reggio Calabria, boasts the recognition of "City of the Book 2024" and is known for its famous Flower Festival.

The Taurianova Flower Festival is an award-winning event that started in 2016 and is one of the most popular late spring events in Calabria. Dozens of floral carpets sprinkle the streets of the city, created from the sketches of local master flower arrangers, rigorously created with plant elements (120,000 flowers, with an estimated total of around 2 million petals).

Places to visit in the city include the Taurianova Cathedral, a remarkable Romanesque-style building with a beautiful rose window on the façade flanked by two bell towers; the Capuchin Convent; the Monumental Cemetery of Radicena, a true "open-air museum"; Villa Zerbi, a remarkable example of Sicilian Baroque built by architect Filippo Frangipane; and Palazzo Contestabile, a work by Vanvitelli's son.
